Best dive charts in freediving. Now for Suunto.

Your Suunto dives land in the Freediver App on their own. You dive with the watch, the app draws the charts and shares them with your coach.

Freediver and Suunto — best dive charts in freediving

Dives recorded on your Suunto watch now land in the Freediver App on their own. No cable, no file, no copying depths off your wrist into a notebook. You come out of the water and the session is already in your log — with the full profile of every dive.

This is the point where you stop choosing between the watch you like and the analysis you want. The watch does its job. The app does the rest.

Charts that don't fit on a wrist

A watch screen has its limits — a few square centimetres and numbers you have to remember. On your phone you see the whole session at once and every dive on its own, at the resolution they deserve.

Whole session profile — 14 dives, CWTB and FIM

The whole session on one chart — 14 dives, CWTB and FIM side by side.

One look and you know how the session went: a warm-up from 14.6 m, two dives to 44.1 m and 43.8 m in the middle, then a run of FIM. You tell the disciplines apart by colour, so there is nothing to decode.

Dive details — 44.1 m in 1:48

One dive in detail — times, speeds and both charts.

A single dive broken into its parts: 44.1 m in 1:48, descent 0:45, ascent 1:03, 0.97 m/s down and 0.69 m/s up, surface interval 4:00. These are the numbers you actually work on between sessions.

Depth profile with speed every 10 metres

Depth profile with the speed of every segment — tap for exact values.

The profile shows your speed on every segment, and tapping the chart gives you a precise point: 0:39, 37.6 m, 0.97 m/s, 83 bpm, 33°C. Heart rate and temperature are exactly where your watch recorded them — finally visible.

Descent and ascent speed chart

Descent and ascent set side by side at the same depth.

And this is where it gets interesting: descent and ascent speed set side by side at the same depth. You can see where you slow down to equalise, where free fall starts and where you pull too hard on the way up. That is not something a watch display can tell you.

Your coach sees what you see

Dives land in your log next to the sessions you planned, so your coach has one complete set of data: the plan, the execution and the profile of every dive. No more screenshots over chat, no more describing a session from memory — your coach opens your log and sees how you dived.

If you train at a centre it works both ways — more on that in the piece about training centers.

Turn it on once and forget it

In your profile open Connections, pick Suunto and switch on Import dives automatically. That's it. From now on every dive recorded on the watch goes into your log by itself.

Suunto connection settings with automatic dive import

Suunto settings — workout auto-sync and automatic dive import.

  • Default discipline: CWT, CWTB, FIM, CNF or OTHER — pick the one you dive most. It gets stamped on every imported dive, and you can fix the odd exception later in the workout details.
  • Workout auto-sync: works the other way round — pool and static workouts go from the Freediver App straight to your watch. Together that closes the loop: the plan goes to the watch, the dives come back to the app.
